New Infographic: Why Yoga for Kids?



Doing my research on Yoga for Children and the rise of parents enrolling their sons and daughters into a yoga practice has really opened my eyes. The Health and Wellness issues facing children and adolescents today is quite daunting. I was very surprised by the “stress” statistic as most people see childhood as idyllic and not prone to stress.


However, social conflicts including bullying is and has always been a “stressor” in childhood. Using stress management, including breath work from yoga can help a child control their emotions, reactions and concentration. Instead of lashing out in a rage, a child may be able to calm their emotions enough to prevent verbal or even physical “violence”.
Yoga, of course, is just one of the many ways that you can give your child these skills, any activity where they are not competitive will help. Martial arts and non-competitive gymnastics are two activities that come to mind.
